Now, he’s filming what are sure to be two more hits, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, the seventh and eighth installments in the Mission: Impossible franchise. But the actor took time out of his busy schedule to thank Top Gun: Maverick fans for all their support. Still, it looks like Cruise doesn’t have too much spare time on his hands, as he daringly multitasked by showing gratitude to his fans while skydiving. Cruise shared a video of himself jumping from a plane, saying, “Hey, everyone. Here we are over stunning South Africa, where we’re filming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning parts one and two. And I didn’t want the year to end without thanking you all for coming out to the theaters and thank you for supporting Top Gun: Maverick.” In the video, he is abruptly interrupted by Christopher McQuarrie, the director of the upcoming Mission: Impossible films, who also happens to be the screenwriter for Top Gun: Maverick. He tells Cruise they don’t have time and have to get the shot, so Cruise casually drops out of the plane. Cruise turns back to the camera as he’s falling and says, “Where was I? Oh yeah. Thank you for supporting Top Gun: Maverick, and thank you for allowing us to entertain you. It truly is the honor of a lifetime.” Cruise’s statement continued: “I’m running out of altitude, so I have to get back to work. We have to get this shot. You have a very safe and happy holiday; we’ll see you at the movies.” Cruise is known for being a daredevil who does his own stunts whenever possible. As a preview for the upcoming Mission: Impossible film, Paramount Pictures released a behind-the-scenes look at what it called “the biggest stunt in cinema history,” with Cruise attempting to drive a motorcycle off a cliff, then let it go to transition into a BASE jump with a parachute. It’s safe to say that Cruise will do anything for his fans!
