Launching January 3, the coffee giant will see a few new additions joining its already extensive lineup of offerings. Fans can prepare for the return of the Pistachio Latte, as well as a new Pistachio Cream Cold Brew. The beloved Red Velvet Loaf also returns, making its way back into bakery cases to round out Starbucks’ winter menu. As for what to expect from the new handcrafted Pistachio Cream Cold Brew, the drink features Starbucks Cold Brew sweetened with vanilla syrup, topped off with silky pistachio cream cold foam and salted brown-buttery sprinkles. The Pistachio Latte returns for its third year, originally debuting for Winter 2021’s menu. “Whether served hot, iced, or as a Frappuccino® blended beverage, the Pistachio Latte perfectly combines Starbucks signature espresso and milk with the cozy flavor of sweet pistachio and is finished with a salted brown butter topping,” per the brand’s press release. “Pistachio is the perfect flavor to follow the holidays and carry us through the winter season,” Rosalyn Batingan, a Starbucks beverage team member, said in the announcement. “Its smooth and sweet profile delivers a feeling of warmth and coziness, even when served cold. With the Pistachio Cream Cold Brew, coffee lovers will savor the ultra-smooth combination of pistachio cream cold foam atop our cold brew. We are also delighted to welcome back the Pistachio Latte, which pairs our signature espresso, steamed milk, and flavors of sweet pistachio with top notes of brown butter.” Customers’ taste buds will dance after indulging in the popular Red Velvet Loaf—a delicious vanilla cake swirled with classic red velvet cake and topped with white chocolatey icing. “Starbucks is also introducing a new line of drinkware in pretty pastels and fresh florals to brighten the new year. Ready to keep customers’ cold beverages chilly and hot beverages cozy, the winter collection includes stainless steel tumblers, ceramic mugs, beloved cold cups, and more in a variety of cup sizes. As always, Starbucks® Rewards members who bring a clean, personal reusable cup into participating cafés will earn 25 Stars in addition to 10 cents off their beverage,” the communication states. The coffee brand is also bringing back its whole bean Tribute Blend—originally released to celebrate Starbucks’ 40th Anniversary in 2011—merging four favorite origins including herbal Sumatra, chocolatey Columbia, spicy Papua New Guinea and fruit-forward Ethiopia. The flavor notes consist of black cherry and baking spices. Additionally, available for a limited time at select Starbucks stores and Starbucks Reserve locations are two single-origin Starbucks Reserve coffees: new Guatemala Lake Atitlan, which presents tasting notes of malted chocolate and apricot; and Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Chelelektu, featuring tasting notes of raspberry and honey. The chain’s winter menu food and beverages are available at Starbucks stores nationwide for a limited time, while supplies last.
