If the title of the project sounds familiar, it’s probably because it’s also the title of one of Celine Dion’s most iconic hit songs—and not-at-all coincidentally, the chanteuse has a significant supporting role in the rom-com! And if that title doesn’t sound familiar, it’s probably because up until mid-April 2022, the movie was going by another name, Text for You. Whatever it’s called, both Heughan and Chopra have already talked on the record about how excited they are for the movie to come out, as well as for Dion to make her major acting debut. You probably already know the answer, but it will still be a delight to watch!
Who stars in It’s All Coming Back to Me cast with Sam Heughan?
As mentioned, the Text for You leads will be played by Heughan and Chopra. “I’m such in awe of her. She’s so beautiful. She’s so wonderful. She’s such a good human being,” Heughan gushed to ETCanada about his co-star in June 2021. He also told Parade in November 2020, “I think it is going to be a fun project. It is a beautiful script. It’s a romantic comedy. Jim Strouse [who previously helmedGrace Is Gone and The Incredible Jessica James href=“https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5990342/?ref_=nm_flmg_dr_3” target="_blank"] is the director. He’s done some wonderful independent films before. It’s such a great cast. Hopefully, it’s the kind of film that people will really enjoy and we need in this time.” Meanwhile, Chopra—who became the first Indian-born performer to star in a U.S. TV series with Quantico—is now top-lining her first major Hollywood movie. “I love rom-coms. And I’ve done a lot of rom-coms in my Bollywood work, but I’ve never had [the chance] yet in America,” she told Harper’s Bazaar Arabia in February 2022. She also told Vanity Fair the month prior, “I’m such a sucker for a good romantic comedy, like a date-night movie that makes your heart go soft.” As for Dion’s role, Heughan and Chopra’s characters will reportedly bond over her music in the movie, suggesting that Dion may play herself. It’ll be Dion’s first movie role (and presumably her biggest role ever) since she played Miss Piggy’s “fairy godmother” in 2014’s Muppets Most Wanted. No matter what her role is, though, Dion’s already sold her co-stars on her acting prowess. As she told Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, “She’s so funny. And she’s an amazing actress. She definitely needs to do more of this.” In March 2022, Heughan similarly gushed about Dion’s talents as a thespian—and confirmed that new Dion music will also be featured in the project. “She’s incredible, but she’s not only in the movie and she’s really good and extremely funny, but she’s also supplying the music for the movie," Heughan said on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live. “She’s written a song especially for us… She was amazing, honestly. Other stars of the film include Russell Tovey, Lydia West, Steve Oram, Omid Djalili, Sofia Barclay, Arinzé Kene and Celia Imrie, according to Deadline. According to some set reports and paparazzi photos, Chopra’s husband Nick Jonas was seen filming a cameo for the movie, but there’s been no official confirmation of his appearance in the flick.
