The brand has described Meghan Markle as the “epitome of Dior elegance” after she was spotted carrying a black Dior purse that paid tribute to her late-mother-in-lawPrincess Diana. The €4900 “Lady D-Lite” bag was named after the Princess of Wales in 1996 because Diana wore it so often. A sister bag to the brand’s iconic Lady Dior purse, it was originally gifted to Diana by the first lady of France. Meghan also added a personal touch to her own version of the purse—eagle-eyed royal watchers noticed that it was engraved with the letters ‘DSSOS’, standing for the Duchess of Sussex! The bag has since sold out online following Dior’s enthusiastic tweet! The purse was part of Meghan’s outfit at the Global Citizen Live concert at Central Park, for which she wore a gorgeous embellished white minidress by Valentino. She also accessorized with the diamond Cartier stud earrings she wore at her wedding. Meanwhile, earlier in the couple’s NY trip her husband Prince Harry was seen carrying a leather briefcase embossed with the words ‘Archie’s Papa.’ Awww! It’s far from the first time that Meghan has revealed herself to be a fan of Dior. She wore a bespoke white dress by the brand at Archie’s christening in 2019, and at the christening of Zara Tindall’s daughter that same year she chose a 1950s-era Dior Haute Couture brown silk coat with giant sparkly black buttons for the occasion. One notable Dior ‘wow’ moment with the Duchess of Sussex at its center is Meghan and Harry’s 2019 tour of Morocco, during which Meghan wore a flowing cape gown in pale gold, featuring a crystal-embellished trim.
