Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks tribute to heroes
This year’s musical score, which is the “basis for the fireworks choreography,” will salute the spirit of optimism and bravery of the American people, according to Macy’s. The score will include “The Star-Spangled Banner,” “America the Beautiful,” and feature performances by the United States Army Field Band & Soldiers’ Chorus as well as a rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by Broadway Inspirational Voices. Kelly will also perform a rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from the musical Carousel. Macy’s noted, “This tribute to everyday heroes will be the heart of this year’s Macy’s Fireworks and will serve as the musical accompaniment to the signature Macy’s Golden Mile moment of the spectacle, where thousands of golden-hued shells create a dramatic cascade effect 1,000-feet in the air and more than a mile wide across the East River.” The Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular will spotlight everyday heroes who make the country special during a series of uplifting personal stories, called the “American Spirit." Olympians Allyson Felix, Simone Manuel, Tatyana McFadden and Jessica Long will share their stories.
