While visiting Charleston, South Carolina, actress Melinda Clarke, who played the antagonistic, troubled Julie Cooper in the series, reunited with her on-screen family. Clarke’s character was the mother of Mischa Barton’s Marissa Cooper and wife to Tate Donovan’s Jimmy Cooper. The entire Cooper family gathered for a photo, which Clarke posted on social media. Sharing the picture on Instagram, Clarke added the caption, “SO THIS HAPPENED! Cooper family reunion! Warmed my heart to see these two, @mischabarton and @t8dono.” Based on what Clarke wrote, it looks like the three were together for the Ep-ix & Chill event in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, an event run by Epic Events and Entertainment. Both Donovan and Barton commented on the photo, with the former writing, “So great to see you all y’all 😍,” while Barton said, “Aww family photo 🤍🤍🤍 so good to catch up with you.” Another O.C. costar, Rachel Bilson, who played Marissa’s best friend Summer, also left a comment on the post, writing, “And that’s the coop scoop!!!! Love all 3 of these faces 🥰.” Bilson, who co-hosts a podcast with Clarke called Welcome to the OC, B—hes!, welcomed Adam Brody to the show last year. He played Seth, Summer’s love interest, in the teen drama. In the podcast, the trio talked about their experiences making The O.C. Bilson thanked Brody for his support and collaboration, saying, “You made it, like, so comfortable to just go for it and not be afraid, and everything you did and working with you really made me have the confidence to kind of, like, do whatever I wanted and go for it.” Brody clearly felt the same way, thanking her for the compliment before dishing out his own. He told Bilson, “in the pilot, you made it your own instantly and everyone fell in love with you. I felt like we were sparring so well together so fast.” While the cast of The O.C. appears to still care for each other and keep in contact, it’s yet to be seen whether there will ever be a reunion or reboot of the classic drama series.
