What did Jamie Lynn say about Britney?
“I just want to take a second to address a few things,” the 30-year-old Jamie Lynn said in a series of Instagram Story videos on Monday. “The only reason I hadn’t before is because I felt like until my sister was able to speak for herself and say what she felt she needed to say publicly that it wasn’t my place and it wasn’t the right thing to do. But now that she’s very clearly spoken and said what she needed to say, I feel like I can follow her lead and say what I feeI I need to say.” Despite some #FreeBritney fans believing Jamie Lynn might not truly be on her sister’s side, the former Zoey 101 star insisted, “Since the day I was born, I’ve only loved adored and supported my sister… I don’t care if she wants to run away to a rainforest and have zillion babies in the middle of nowhere, or if she wants to come back and dominate the world the way she has done so many times before, because I have nothing to gain or lose either way [because] I’m only her sister who’s only concerned about her happiness.” Still, Britney seemed to strongly suggest at last week’s hearing that she doesn’t think Jamie Lynn’s on her side. In fact, she indicated that her family has taken a totally hands-off approach to her well-being, letting dad JamieSpears run the conservatorship as he saw fit. “My family didn’t do a goddam thing,” Britney said. “Anything that happened to me had to be approved by my dad.“Not only did Spears express just how betrayed she feels by her family; she also expressed a desire to make them pay by suggesting she might eventually sue them.
Christina Aguilera on Britney Spears
Coincidentally, on the same day, Aguilera shared her own series of posts on her Instagram Story and Twitter making it clear that she’s in total support of her onetime Mickey Mouse Club co-star. “These past few days I’ve been thinking about Britney and everything she is going through,” the 40-year-old Aguilera wrote alongside a childhood photo of herself and Spears. “It is unacceptable that any woman, or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might not be allowed to live life as they wish. To be silenced, ignored, bullied or denied support by those ‘close’ to you is the most depleting, devastating and demeaning thing imaginable. The harmful mental and emotional damage this can take on a human spirit is nothing to be taken lightly. Every woman must have the right to her own body, her own reproductive system, her own privacy, her own space, her own healing and her own happiness.” Aguilera ended her statement by telling her followers, “I promise you she deserves all of the freedom possible to live her happiest life. My heart goes out to Britney. She deserves all the TRUE love and support in the world.”
What did Britney Spears say?
So far, Britney hasn’t commented on Jamie Lynn’s video or Aguilera’s post. During last week’s hearing, though, Spears laid out in detail just how prohibitive her conservatorship really is. As just one example, she hinted that she’d like to have more children with longtime beau Sam Asghari (she shares sons Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline with ex-husband Kevin Federline) but can’t even attempt to get pregnant because she’s on birth control—against her wishes—and isn’t allowed to have her IUD contraceptive removed. She also revealed that she’s forbidden from tying the knot with Asghari.“I was told right now in the conservatorship, I’m not able to get married or have a baby,” Spears claimed. Just as she claims she was forced to be on birth control against her wishes, Spears also said she’s taken lithium because the conservatorship demands it, and that one reason Spears was put on medication against her consent was because prescriptions were practically doled out as punishment—such as one time when she was rehearsing for a performance and questioned a particular piece of choreography. “It was as if I planted a huge bomb somewhere,” Spears said. “I’m not here to be anyone’s slave. I can say no to a dance move.” And Spears made clear in court, being controlled by her conservatorship has rendered her angry and depressed. “I’m not happy,” she bluntly told the court. “I can’t sleep, I’m depressed, I cry every day… I’m so angry it’s insane and I’m depressed.”
What did Britney Spears’ dad do?
As for dad and co-conservator Jamie (whose namesake is daughter Jamie Lynn), he’s yet to make any public statements since last week’s hearing, but daughter Britney stated that she thinks what he’s done to her is downright illegal. “He loved the control he had over me, one hundred thousand percent,” Spears said, even suggesting that she believed he should be put behind bars for what he did to her.
