The company announced a new product that will have you either intrigued or grossed out… or a little bit of both. Brach’s Tailgate Candy Corn features five unique flavors: Hot Dog, Hamburger, Popcorn, Fruit Punch, and Vanilla Ice Cream. According to a statement from Brach’s, via Food & Wine, “The Tailgate Candy Corn flavor profile lends itself to an early-fall timeframe, perfect for football season, but with flavors like Hot Dog and Vanilla Ice Cream, why not bring them out at your next summer BBQ?!” With Brach’s new product, the company’s hoping that candy corn, which is usually seen as a Halloween treat, will become something to snack on year-round. Brach’s parent company, Ferrara Candy, said in a statement, “Brach’s, America’s #1 candy corn brand, has a long legacy of creating shared moments of celebration for families and friends. We’re always working on innovations that will take our fans on delicious flavor journeys, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next!” It’s safe to say that the public has mixed opinions on the new candy corn flavors, with @TheJulieBenson simply saying, “Humans were a mistake,” while @seananmcguire notes, “I want a dozen bags of this, so I can share with EVERYONE.” The new Tailgate Candy Corn is available at Walgreens, both in stores and on the website. This isn’t the first time Brach’s has experimented with the classic candy. In 2020, the brand brought candy corn into Thanksgiving with Turkey Dinner Candy Corn, which included the flavors Green Beans, Roasted Turkey, Ginger Glazed Carrot, Sweet Potato Pie, Cranberry Sauce, and Stuffing. Dinner-flavored candy…yum? After releasing both Turkey Dinner Candy Corn and Tailgate Candy Corn, only time will tell what other strange variations of the treat Brach’s will come up with.
